4th of July Card

Happy 4th of July!

In honor of our country’s birthday, I decided to make a card.

Here’s how I did it:

1. Cut Night of Navy cardstock cardstock 5 1/8" x `3 7/8".  Use Ticket Corner (107214) punch to treat corners.

2. Using the Large Star punch (110710),  punch 2 stars.

3. Use the Star Punch (109045) for the smaller stars.

4. Using Real Red CS, cut out two squares 2" x 2" each,

 5. Glue the red squares to the back of the large stars.

When you turn the paper over, it will look like this.

6. To create the look of fireworks, I used the 1/16" circle punch (101227) in an arched pattern.

7. Cut a 5 inch piece of  Real Red Striped Grosgrain (110714).

Apply  SNAIL adhesive (104332) to just the edges.

Wrap the ribbon around the middle of the card and fasten the ends on the back.

8. To complete the look of a bow, cut another piece of ribbon about 3 1/2" to tie around the attached ribbon. Trim the ends at an angle.

9. Mount the Navy cardstock to a White cardstock  base (8 1/2" x 5 1/2") to complete the card.

This is my first card making tutorial. Let me know what you think in the comments section.

Hope you like it!

I just read the tutorials for your 4th of July card and your Watermelon card (saw it in the SUB on Splitcoast). I just wanted to say your tutorials are wonderful - very clearly written and great pictures! I love your idea for creating the punched arcs from the stars on the 4th card, and the watermelon will be one of my projects for my stamp clubs this week - so glad I checked the SUB and found your wonderful site!

I really liked the fourth of july card.
The hole punch for the arcs is very clever and looks great against the white.
Your pictures of each step are very helpful.
Can’t wait to see what else you come up with.
Now I need that hole punch!!
